What helped me the most was guided meditation and mindful exercises. If your a veteran you can find these things on VA website-myhealthevet. Places like Calm.com and Aura.com have very good music. Radio station that has meditation music is iheart. You can get it on an app or going toyoutube.com. Meditation music helps you to stay focused, relax and be in the present moment. This will help with keeping your thoughts and emotions from consuming you. Before doing this I spent days and weeks at a time holding onto the negative thoughts and emotions.
When on you tube you can type in the type of meditation music you want. Here are some of the types you’ll find:
1. Open Heart music.
2. H4H Happiness.
3. Peaceful sounding music.
4. Christian meditation music.
5. Healing Soul.
6. Dab Gibson solitude’s music.
7. Inner Lotus music.
8. Vibe Sync.
9. Nature sounds music.
You can also find mindfulness exercises on you tube. They provide oral instruction. Times range from 5 minutes to 30 minutes.. You are using your senses. This helps you become grounded and in the present. Some guided meditation includes doing a full body scan. Other things that help with this are paying attention to your surroundings helps with focus, mindful eating and breathing exercises.
