My Voice Matters

Military.com has come up with something called, “Mission Role Call.” It is going to the federal lawmakers to vote on. It’s a where veterans can voice their needs. We all come from different walks of life and have had different experiences. This role call should help veterans no matter if they are rural areas. It will help veterans get their needs meant no matter where they live. The goal is to help veterans get help with places that are closer to their home. Right now veterans can have to travel hours to get to a VA hospital.

We need people in leadership to not just listen but, be actively applying themselves to helping us. We need people to put aside their political differences and do what is best for those of us who were willing to die for our country. Many veterans can find them having urgent needs.

If things were working we wouldn’t have so many veterans committing suicide. We need lawmakers are making sure that veterans aren’t overlooked. They need to look at ways to provide positive solutions. If you get a chance to get help, maybe try to present a positive solution to anything you feel is negative. We want give our input. When you share something you may be helping other veterans such as yourself.

We don’t want mental health to be overlooked. We have an invisible wound. We need to champion for ourselves.
