Take one minute at a time, one day at a time. Do what level works best for you. Don’t feel you have to feel up to doing the same amount every day. Don’t beat yourself up when you may feel you’re going backward, instead of progressing forward. Imagine what you’re doing as a journey, going for a walk. Some days you do more, other days you do less. Slowly build up your endurance. Don’t expect to jump out of house every morning with the same as you may have the last two days, the last two weeks. You get my point. When your dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD, MST and any other mental health issue it is a continual process. I’ve been dealing with the above mentioned for 38 years.
For me listening to meditation music and doing mindful meditation after getting my VA claim accepted after 38 years of trying to get help, is what helped me to get my thoughts and emotions from controlling my mind. You may have to keep working at it but please continue your journey. Let God help you. Decide if the mornings or another part of the day is where you can focus with some alone time to apply different methods to make you healthier mentally.
Remember it took months if not years for you to get to the place of needing help. Instant results only happen every time in the movies. Take time to do things you enjoy. If you have a hard time doing fun things, do as much of what used to give you fun as you feel comfortable doing at the time. It takes practice, practice and more practice.
When we are dealing with negative emotions and thoughts it becomes much harder to become motivated. To do what we used to do without any problem. Start our with quick, small activities and build up when you feel comfortable to do so. Eventually you will be finding yourself able to think more clearly.
