Is a program I found on myheatlhyvet.com. People who are transitioning out the military, including those chaptered out can call them and see about trying to get help. Call 1-800-827-0611. They connect you to direct benefits and or resources through partner organizations to your journey after the military. You want to try and call within your first year out. You can still call and ask what you can do if it is longer than that. You don’t need to be enrolled in VA healthcare. They can help find a VA medical center, a vet center (smaller facility than a hospital). Newly separated service members may get a call from them. However, don’t wait call them. Don’t give out financial information. Scammers will do this, not them. Call Monday-Fridsay 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. eastern time.
The VA also has another program called Moving Forward.
You will find online courses you can take:
The barriers to effective problem-solving. Brain overload. Emotion dysregulation. Poor porblem-solving strategies
A step-by-step approach to effective problem-solving. Externalize. Stop and show down. Think and act, to approach problems in a planful way.
When we develop mental health issues due to circumstances beyond our control it helps to have mental health tools you can use to help give us new coping skills. Sometimes it can help you quickly depending on how bad your issues have developed. However, it probably took months, years for you to get these issues you now find yourself dealing with. If you’re like me after being chaptered out of the Army at almost age 32 and not getting the help through the VA I needed. Off and on I got some help. The point is, you may need to take it one moment, on day or maybe years. Don’t give up. Seek mental help from a professional.
Every course is self-paced. To help you with your mental health needs. You may find yourself having mild symptoms and other times more severe. That is why you need to seek help. I hope you will find the things I post on my website helpful. I don’t want you to have your emotions and thoughts consume your mind. It makes it hard to function. Believe me, I know. I’ll be 69 this fall.
IT is based on what the VA calls PST (problem solving therapy). You can get the iso app. Things are developed by people trained in that field. It is good to do things like this but, it also will benefit you to have support.
God bless you. Feel free to check out my other website called, bringgodbacktoamerica.com.
