What is Worry? part 2

In the workbook mentioned in “What is Worry?” Mary Ellen Copeland did a study on worry. One of the participants said the following: “Since I view “worries” as signpost, I respect the nature of their gift. I’m not going out to sign up for any extra ones, but my “worries”/concerns are a vital part of my life. To the extent they serve a purpose, I’ll use them for good and……….let them go.” I find that to be an interesting way of looking at it. Other participants saw worries as part of being human. There could be a kernel of truth or a lesson to be learned. Worry can be a positive force in creating enough discomfort to make necessary changes. We all have to overcome worry just like every trial in life.

Do any of you see the following relating to worry:

  1. Helps you realize there are problems and your able to see a way toward correcting them.
  2. Does it help you too subsequently reassess the problem.
  3. Do you think of eventually using caution.
  4. Does it help you to consequently use caution
